The electronic cigarette has been growing intrepidly and will soon enter an into a full fledged billion dollar industry. Why is the electronic cigarette so successful? Well it's simple, because it works. The electronic cigarette delivers that nicotine hit that many addicts crave but in doing so, eliminating the majority of the toxic components found in real cigarettes. The idea is simply amazing and the actual outcome of the product can only be gauged by its phenomenal growth. Keep your eye out for new models including the Amerismoke electronic cigarette, which features USA based manufacturing. This is definitely the right step the e-cig industry needs to take, this eliminates many of the issues that opponents of the product have. Since Amerismoke is made in the USA they can have strict oversight of the manufacturing process, insuring complete quality and guarantees previously unseen in this industry.

NY Politicians want to kill Millions Of American with the Electronic Cigarette Ban

NYS Politicans Want to Kill Millions of Americans
April 27th, 2010
Albany, NY

A recent bill to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes altogether in New York State was passed last week by unanimous decisions in the NYS Legislature’s Assembly. It is unfortunate that all of the politicians who voted in favor of the bill were grossly misinformed regarding the FACTS behind electronic cigarettes. Because electronic cigarettes (commonly referred to as “ecigs”) have the ability to save hundreds of thousands of American smoker’s lives per year, any politician who is in favor of the ban of these products is directly contributing to the death of millions of Americans.
Examining some of the facts surrounding the controversial products, the most compelling piece of evidence came from a recent petition and report submitted to the FDA by the American Association of Public Health Physicians (AAPHP). This is the governing body of doctors for our country, so surely they know what they are talking about and have the factual information to back their statements. In this report they were quoted in saying:
“The AAPHP Task Force, on the basis of extensive literature review and analysis (Attachment A1), has
concluded that a national harm reduction initiative, based partly on the potential attractiveness of the E cigarette to current smokers, could save the lives of 4 million of the 8 million current adult
American smokers who will otherwise die of a tobacco-related illness over the next 20 years
(Attachment Ai). This could result in a situation in which, 20 years from now, there would be less than
10,000 tobacco-related deaths per year in the United States instead of the current 400,000+ per year.”

Here is the body of doctors our country entrusts with our health and safety reporting that these products are finally recognized as life saving devices to millions of smokers. It’s also worth mentioning that two private companies sued the FDA over electronic cigarettes and in January of 2010 a Federal Court Judge ruled against the FDA, saying they had no authority to ban or restrict the sale or marketing of ecigs in the USA.

So what’s going on here? Corrupt politics at its finest unfortunately is the case. Here we have a product that has already helped thousands of Americans quit smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes and that has finally been recognized by a credible organization as a long-term cigarette replacement and harm-reduction substitute. This product is so great and has such a large potential that Big Tobacco and Big Pharmaceutical companies both what to get their hands on it- which fortunately they haven’t been able to up to this point. It’s obvious what is going on here, and that is that these big industries are mad they can’t use this product to exploit even further, so they are trying to stop it at all costs if they can’t have it for themselves.

It should come as no surprise to the reader of this article that both Big Tobacco and Big Pharmaceutical have many politicians in their pocket. Their campaign contributions are worth a lot to these politicians, so these politicians are helping them push forth their agenda to ban electronic cigarettes. However, in most cases the naïve politicians do not realize that through their legislation they are keeping a life-saving product out of the hands of existing smokers who desperately need it. The politicians are only concerned that they keep on receiving their campaign donations, with no regards to the health and safety of the constituents they represent. As this article is appropriately titled, these politicians are really directly contributing to the death of millions of Americans as long as they keep on voting to ban electronic cigarettes.

If this article was written a year ago when this industry was still maturing and very much controversial, this article could be read as a sided view of what is going on within the electronic cigarette industry. However, at this point in time the industry has already won a victory over the FDA in Federal Court and a credible medical institution has recognized these products as life-saving devices. It’s nearly May of 2010 and the writing on the table is very clear. For politicians to vote in favor to make ecigs no longer available would be like depriving a sick child of their medicine and instead just watching them suffer. If these corrupt politicians succeed in banning electronic cigarettes, smokers will be left with no other option but to resort back to smoking traditional cigarettes which kill over 400,000 people per year. Somehow we allow an unsafe product that is proven to cause a huge amount of deaths to be sold on the shelves of most major stores, but we then turn around and try to ban this new inventive product that can help save the majority of those dying smoker’s lives? Something doesn’t add up here.

The sponsor of the recent proposed legislation in NYS is Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal. If you go back and look at the financial contributions Ms. Rosenthal has received over the past years, which is public record, it is evident that this woman has a much larger reason to support this misguided legislation, and that is to satisfy the big companies that have contributed to her in the past. The statements Mr. Rosenthal made to the NYS Assembly on record are grossly inaccurate. She claims that mall kiosks in Albany, NY sell electronic cigarettes to minors. Where is the proof of this Ms. Rosenthal? She has no documented proof to back up her misguided claims, as the kiosks that sell in any of the malls in Albany, NY do not, nor ever have sold to minors. In addition Ms. Rosenthal claims that these devices vaporize an “undetermined amount of nicotine”. Where is the proof to back that statement up as well? There is none. All companies, including the Chinese ones, have regulated amounts of nicotine within their products which are clearly marked in the packaging and labeling of any and all products. Nicotine can range from 0mg to 24mg and every product on the market is clearly marked with such.

Linda Rosenthal has been extremely deceptive in the promotion of this bill, as she first focuses on the concern to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors. The tactics used by her, and which have been subsequently used to try to push forth similar legislation in other states which have failed, uses the need to ban sale to minors to get people to support the bill. Well if you look at the entire bill, within it buried in Section 1399 she mentions the need to ban it outright amongst adults within NYS. The trick here is to use the safety of our children to gain approval, while quietly burying in the bill a sub-section that bans them all together. Mr. Rosenthal also went on the record to the NYS Assembly by stating that she wants to ban these until “the FDA has had such time to analyze and review” them. Well guess what Ms. Rosenthal, the FDA has had several years to analyze and review and they found nothing significant enough to require a ban. She is also quoted in saying that chemicals used in anti-freeze and carcinogens were found in them- another fact that was clearly taken out of context. Yes, the FDA in their testing did find trace elements (nothing significant enough to pose a threat) in 1 of the 16 samples they tested, all of which came from China. If they found something significant enough in electronic cigarettes the FDA would have immediately taken action and banned them. The FDA was sued over their controlling techniques and subsequently lost in a Federal Court, giving Ms. Rosenthal’s comments little merit. Ms. Rosenthal and the rest of the NYS politicians who voted like her in favor of this bill want to restrict a product that has no proven harmful effects and has been glorified by doctors, but allow the continued sale of traditional cigarettes that kill hundreds of thousands of people each year? It doesn’t take a scientist to figure out what’s going on here. The facts are clear- and its people like Ms. Rosenthal who are quietly trying to kill millions of American’s by restricting products that could otherwise save smoker’s lives.

Leon sided with electronic-cigarette or e cig makers Smoking Everywhere Inc. and Njoy. He criticized what he called the FDA's "tenacious drive to maximize its regulatory power," saying he found its interpretation of the law "unreasonable and unacceptable."

Representatives of the FDA weren't immediately available for comment. The FDA cited its longstanding authority to regulate drugs and medical devices in claiming the right to bar electronic cigarettes, not a new law passed last year that gave the agency added powers to regulate tobacco marketing.

The FDA has seized shipments of electronic cigarettes, which look and taste like cigarettes, amid concerns the products were being marketed as safer alternatives to traditional tobacco.

Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered tubes that contain an atomizer, a battery and a cartridge filled with liquid nicotine. Florida-based Smoking Everywhere, one of the largest makers of electronic cigarettes, has sold about one million of the cigarettes in the U.S., said company Vice President Ray Story. He declined to give a dollar amount for the sales.

Mr. Story said the opinion is a "big victory for us." He said electronic cigarettes are "less harmful" than traditional cigarettes. The products don't contain tar or produce smoke.

When a user sucks on an e-cigarette, a light-emitting diode causes the tip to glow and the atomizer turns the liquid nicotine into a vapor. The vapor can be inhaled and then exhaled, creating a cloud that resembles cigarette smoke but dissipates more quickly.

Health groups including the American Lung Association have called for e-cigarettes to be removed from the market, saying their safety is unproven and children may be attracted to them

The electric cigarette is booming in popularity and is righteously doing so. The product has been giving users a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes and is truly making its name from a potential fad to a solid here-to-stay product. The electric cigarette can be seen everywhere with many users both in their 20's and all the way up to their 80's. People are adopting the electric cigarette as a potential tobacco killer and should be recognized as such. I bet the big tobacco companies are getting a little worried about the electric cigarette!

A cigarette that runs off electricity. It acts just like a real cigarette would except it doesn't produce smoke nor does it have any combustion. But it does make a vapor that looks like smoke!

The electric cigarette consists of 3 parts. The first part is the long white part with the glowing led end... This is actually a battery. The battery in a electric cigarette can be a variety of voltages but is typically a lithium battery, most electric cigarette kits include a battery charger to recharge this part. The LED light on the end of the electric cigarette can also be a variety of colors. Many companies out there will have the typical orange or red led. But some of the ecigs out there will can have blue, purple, green, white or any other color in the rainbow as the LED end. This will let people know you are not smoking a real cigarette but vaping on a electric cigarette.

The second part of the ecig is the part that vaporizes the liquid into the mist. This is essentially a small heating coil and it's name is typically referred to as an atomizer. The atomizer has a small wick on the end of it and literally soaks up the liquid nicotine into its wick and vaporizes it into a mist. All electric cigarettes will contain an atomizer, while some of the ecigs will have the atomizer built into the cartridge called a cartomizer, some will be a seperate piece all together.

The last part of the electric cigarette is the cartridges. The cartridges are the components that include the nicotine liquid. The nicotine cartridges can be sold in different levels of strengths and mg's. Typically you will find 16mg as high all the way down to no nicotine cartridges. You will also find a chemical called propylene glycol in the cartridges with the nicotine. Be careful though where you purchase your electric cigarette from because companies like smokingeverywhere.com have been found to contain diethylene glycol which is poisonous! So always make sure the company you purchase your electric cigarette from is reputable and doesn't have that chemical in their ecigs.

So how does it work?

Well the electric cigarette cartridges will be attached to the end of the atomizer. In doing so the atomizer's wick will be in direct contact with the e-liquid nicotine solution and will soak it up into it's wick. The wick will then attach to the atomizer coil. When you puff on the electric cigarette a small micro-processor built into the battery portion will tell the atomizer to fire up and it will heat up and rapidly steam out the eliquid into a mist. This is a instant process and it literally transforms the liquid into vapor immediately. Then when you puff on the electric cigarette it looks just like you are smoking a real cigarette but it is just the eliquid vapor. This vapor is extremely safe compared to traditional cigarettes and is missing many of the chemcals normally found in real cigs.
